Effective July 19, 2026
The short version: TR4 does not collect, store or share any personal data. Your recordings live on your device. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no tracking of any kind.
Audio you record with TR4 is stored only on your iPhone, inside the app's own documents folder. It is never uploaded to us — we have no servers. Recordings leave your device only when you export or share them using the iOS share sheet, to a destination you choose.
TR4 asks for microphone permission so you can record. Audio from the microphone (or from a connected USB audio device) is written directly to your recordings and used for nothing else. You can revoke this permission at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone.
The optional transcription feature uses Apple's Speech Recognition. When possible, recognition runs entirely on your device. For some languages, iOS may send the audio to Apple's servers for processing, subject to Apple's privacy policy. TR4 only receives the resulting text, which is saved locally with your project. Transcription only runs when you open the transcription screen and start an analysis.
TR4 does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future feature requires a service — the updated policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date before the feature ships.
